We create wedding cakes which can be

  • rich fruit
  • light sponge
  • madiera
  • chocolate

The cakes can be round, hexagonal,square,
or any shape for which we can hire tins.

The number of tiers is up to you.

Ingredients

All our cakes are made from the finest ingredients including free range eggs. Our fruit cakes are steeped in acohol and it is recommended that they are made 3 months ahead so that the flavours and texture can mature.

We ask if you would like nuts in the cakes because of nut allergies and of course the almond paste contains nuts.

Cakes may have a filling if required, this will depend on personal choice, but examples are apricot jam or jam of any choice, butter cream, chocolate etc

Cakes can be decorated in a variety of different ways. We specialise in handmade sugar flowers.

Decoration

Generally the cakes are covered with regal icing, I can use royal icing but it is rarely asked for. Butter cream can be used but is generally used to adhere the icing to the sponge or to coat children’s cakes.

The flowers are made from a paste called flower paste that is edible and is sugar and this dries like china

We can make models which can be made out of icing, marzipan, modelling paste,or pastillage.

Choosing

We are here to help you choose the right cake design for you. We have lots of wedding cake books which have lots of designs in as well as a portfolio of photographs of cakes previously made.

We also encourage you to look for any pictures examples of designs that you would like to incorporate on your cake. Then we can amalgamate all the different ideas and come up with your own personal design.

Samples of the materials of the dresses are also very helpful so that we can match the cake with your colour scheme
